During the configuration of Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager I was stuck with the impossibility to add users from our Active Directory. I was always confronted to the error “Cannot find user account DOMAIN\username”.
This error occurs when the user configured to launch the service is not a member of the AD domain. You can solve this issue by reinstalling Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager from an Active Directory enabled session. Or you can solve this issue by changing the user configured in the service settings :
- Go to “Start Menu”
- Search for “Services”
- In the services list, double click “Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager”
- Go to the “Log On” tab
- Change the account configured by an AD domain account
- Click apply
You need to restart the service to be sure that the problem will be solved. A documentation is available on the Veeam website explaining the needed permissions.
